
--Philly native Aaron McKie, who will be returning to the Sixers as an assistant coach starting July 1, was arrested on June 23 for trying to buy two guns while he has a restraining order against him. In his application, he denied that he was under such an order, which resulted in one felony and one misdemeanor charge. He was released on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3.
--Sixers president Ed Stefanski said he expects Lou Williams to serve as the backup to starter Andre Miller at point guard and "fight for the starting job at the two." Willie Green started opposite Miller last season. --The Sixers, who rarely send players to the NBDL, are now affiliated with the expansion Erie BayHawks. The Cavaliers are the other team that can send players to Erie.
