Philadelphia 76ers Notes, Quotes 2008-06-16
--The Sixers have started bringing potential draft picks in for workouts. The most interesting name -- and probably the only first-rounder they've seen so far -- is Nevada center JaVale McGee. He's an athletic 7-footer projected to wind up anywhere from No. 17 to 21. The Sixers hold the 16th pick in the June 26 draft.

--Backup C Calvin Booth has exercised his player option for 2008-09. Booth is set to earn $1.14 million next season. He averaged 0.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 6.6 minutes in 31 games last year, his first with the Sixers.

--The Sixers extended the contracts of vice president of basketball operations/assistant GM Tony DiLeo and director of player personnel Courtney Witte. DiLeo has been with the organization for 21 years and has served as everything from an assistant coach to scout. Witte, who started out as a video scout, has been with the Sixers for 11 years.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "It is our philosophy that if we like a player, we will try to move to (up) to get that player. Sometimes we can do it and sometimes we can't." -- Vice president of basketball operations Tony DiLeo, on the Sixers' draft strategy.
