Philadelphia 76ers Notes, Quotes 2009-07-10
--Assuming Andre Miller leaves via free agency and the Sixers don't get anything in return for him, the plan seems to be to sign backups at the point, small forward and center for the veterans' minimums. That'd give the Sixers 13 players under contract.

The Sixers have the full mid-level exception ($5.85 million), but aren't planning on using it because they don't see any players worth that amount, now that G Mike Bibby re-signed with the Hawks.

--The Sixers lost their first three games in the Orlando Pro Summer League by an average of 15 points. They're fielding a combined team with the Nets, apparently to save money, and aren't going to the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas for the first time in three years.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "The marketplace has changed dramatically. It's changed for us, too. Andre Miller did a very nice job for us, but I think where we're stationed right now and what type of team we have, to go long term right now is not a prudent decision for our franchise." -- Team president Ed Stefanski, on his not being willing to offer G Andre Miller more than two years.
