Philadelphia 76ers Notes, Quotes 2008-11-01
--The Sixers' three top scorers -- Elton Brand (24 points, 12-for-19), Andre Miller (20, 8-of-12) and Willie Green (18, 8-for-10) -- were a combined 28-of-41 (.688) from the field against New York Friday.

--Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks played 11 guys in the opener and eight in the first three quarters of the blowout win over New York before using Kareem Rush and rookie Marreese Speights in the fourth period. He said he's still trying to figure out his rotation, which could change from night to night depending on the opponent and who has the hot hand for the Sixers. He de-activated veteran Theo Ratliff in favor of Speights in the Knicks' game after de-activating Speights in the opener.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I wanted to assert myself right away and the team wanted to assert itself. There was no way we were going down to 0-2." -- F Elton Brand, after he had 24 points and 14 rebounds in the Sixers' 116-87 win over the Knicks.
