Iguodala and Young lead Sixers past Suns

Iguodala and Young lead Sixers past SunsMONTERREY, Mexico (AP) - Andre Iguodala scored 23 points and Thaddeus Young added 17 to help the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Phoenix Suns 116-94 on Sunday in Mexico.

The Suns had beaten the 76ers on Friday, handing Philadelphia its first loss in the preseason.

This marked the 18th time that the NBA has played a game in Mexico since 1992.

"You could feel the energy in the building tonight and it wasn't like a typical preseason game that you would play in the States, the fans were a lot more into the game," Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry said.

Jason Richardson scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half for Phoenix.

"We had a lot of fun (on the trip to Mexico). We have a lot of fans out here in Mexico and I thought it was a successful trip for us," Suns forward Amare Stoudemire said. "We felt like we were at home."

Philadelphia built a 13-point halftime lead and never looked back.

"We challenged our starters tonight and Andre realy took the bull by the horns and really took us to another level," Philadelphia coach Eddie Jordan said. "Our defense was good, a lot more energy tonight and we sustained it in the second half."
