The Cavaliers' major moves are done, but the finishing touches may not be.

According to a league source, the Cavs have a contract offer out to a forward and are hoping to get an answer within the next few days. That forward is believed to be Hakim Warrick, a 6-9 athletic big man who has played the past four seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The team is believed to be offering its biannual exception, which would be just under $2 million for this season, plus a player option for the 2010-11 season.

ESPN.com reported Thursday that Warrick is considering the Cavs, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. Both the Bucks and 76ers can offer Warrick more money, and he is from Philadelphia.

If Warrick turns down the Cavs, the team might turn to familiar face Joe Smith. A league source said several teams are in talks with Smith - including the Cavs - and that Smith would like to return here if the circumstances are right.

The team also has stayed in contact with younger free agent forward Rob Kurz.

With Lamar Odom reportedly set to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, there might be a rash of signings in the forward market as there was a bit of a delay to see where Odom would go.

Warrick averaged 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds last season for the Grizzlies. He's a great leaper, remembered for his blocked shot that helped Syracuse clinch the 2003 national title. He is not a great jump shooter - which is a team need at the forward spot - but he has shot a high percentage (.50) from the field during his career.

He popped up on the radar of numerous teams last week when the Grizzlies pulled their $3 million qualifying offer, turning him into an unrestricted free agent.

One factor the Cavs have been weighing this summer is whether or not to save a place in the rotation for J.J. Hickson, who showed promise last season before back surgery shut him down. There is also Darnell Jackson, who was solid when he got minutes as a rookie.

So, with Shaquille O'Neal, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Anderson Varejao all in the rotation, the Cavs seem to still be looking to secure the frontcourt with at least one more veteran.
