"I can feel it coming," Brand said Tuesday. "It's not far away and that's very encouraging."
Brand hasn't played for the struggling Sixers since he sustained a fracture and tear in his right shoulder on Dec. 17 against Milwaukee. Brand, who signed an $80 million, five-year contract with the Sixers in the offseason, is averaging 15.9 points and 9.8 rebounds in 23 games.
Brand hopes to return to practice within the week.
"That's the true test is the contact," Brand said.
The Sixers were 13-20 entering Tuesday night's game against Houston.
